Dubai, Urban Fishing!
The Emirate of Dubai is the second largest of the seven United Arab Emirates which was formed in 1971, but has the biggest population at over 2.1 million inhabitants.
Size has been synonymous with Dubai as it continues to build the first, largest and the biggest construction projects in the world. Dubai’s dynamics are always transient and ever-changing with its constant urge to construct something better and bigger than the previous. If there was a Palm Island, Nakheel thought of the World Island. Burj Al Arab seemed too timid when Burj Khalifa cropped up, distancing itself to being a loner in the crowd. Dubai constantly dwells in a suppressive competition with itself trying to magnetize tourists to a dreamy world of attractions and unheard of luxuries.
The emirate’s scoring point’s lie in its entrepreneurial abilities to create the inconceivable found in its tourist attractions, landmarks, shopping centers, nightlife and hotels. Although it strictly safeguards its traditional practices, it allows space for other religions to breathe, a rare quality amongst the conservative Arab world. Thankfully, it has been successful in shielding itself from extremism, much-needed for it to survive. Today, Dubai has emerged as a cosmopolitan metropolis that has grown steadily to become a global city and a business and cultural hub of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region.
But the best part of all of this is that Dubai has some truly amazing fly fishing right in the middle of all of this luxury and mind blowing attractions.
The Arabian Gulf is a shallow body of water that has a huge abundance of life from the smallest baitfish to big game fish. It is quite astonishing the amount of fish in the middle of Dubai under the towering skyscrapers and luxury Hotels. Dubai has built everything bigger and better and this includes building the biggest man made reefs in the World. The Palm and World Islands have changed the face of Dubai but more importantly created huge habitats for small juvenile fish which attracts the bigger game fish and in turn attracts us as fisherman. We are lucky to have a wide variety of species patrolling the shallow waters close into Dubai. The main target species are the ever present queenfish which are truly a perfect fly fishing and light tackle species, they are big, aggressive and jump once hooked making for an amazing visual spectacle from the take to the fight to landing the fish. We have a wide variety of species to target including golden trevally, yellowdot trevally, orange spot trevally, barracuda, cobia, king fish and many more.
Fishing off Dubai is unique and we refer to it as urban fishing as you are at times fishing in front of the 7 Star Burj Al Arab Hotel, Atlantis Hotel or the 200 skyscrapers in the Dubai Marina. Our trips are easy and usually half day in the morning or afternoon leaving enough time to explore the many sights of Dubai. Dubai is the perfect destination for a quick holiday, Business trip, lay over on your way to another destination or if you live in UAE and want to cure the fishing bug.
We also offer trips to Moon Island (30 miles) or Seer Abu Naer Island (50 miles) which are full day trip and can target some big fish and experience some remote islands off Dubai that attract a lot species of fish due to the remote locations and fish being attracted to the structure.
We can provide all of the fishing gear depending on the type of fishing technique or species we are targeting. We have trolling, spinning, jigging and fly fishing gear that is available on the boats on confirmation on how and when you would like to fish.

There many airlines flying into Dubai and UAE but the main recommended airline is Emirates and a lot of layover deals can be found. Once in Dubai it is very easy to get around with taxis but if required we can arrange a car to pick you up from your hotel and drop you at the marina for your charter and settle the bill directly.
There is a wide range of accommodation from the 7 Star Burj Al Arab to good value 3 star hotels. We work with a wide variety of hotels and can book you a package depending on budget and requirements. We normally suggest a hotel near the Mall of the Emirates so you are central to all of Dubai’s landmarks along with the marinas.
